Andreas Lier graduated from the University of Economics and Business in Hannover, Germany. He holds a diploma in Economics.He joined BASF in Germany in 1992. Four years later, he took over a management position in Russia as Head of the Office in Volga-Ural region. After successful implementation of several business projects in Russia, he got an opportunity to use his professional experience on various management positions in BASF offices worldwide, in particular, in South Africa, Middle East, China, Turkey and Eastern Europe.

Effective 2012, Andreas Lier is a Managing Director with BASF in Ukraine. Currently he is also responsible for Country Cluster East Europe, which includes Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia.

With full responsibility for Ukraine, Andreas works closely with regional organizations and global associations divisions creating opportunities for further market development and making Ukrainian customers more successful. Effective 2016, Andreas Lier enters Executive Board of European Business Association. In October 2016 Andreas Lier became a President of German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
