For a long time was engaged in economic analysis. In particular, before coming to the central bank he was a Head of Analysis and Research Division in Raiffeisen Bank Aval. Also he was engaged in economic research at International Monetary Fund Resident Representative Office in Ukraine and at the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting. He is an author of a range of economic studies.

As a Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine he is responsible for transition of Ukraine to the inflation targeting regime, which is aimed at providing price stability.
