Christer Haglund has a diverse background in business, diplomacy, media, and communications.
With a career spanning several decades, Mr. Haglund held various key positions, including Director of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ office in Estonia from 2015 to 2023. He also served as the Director for the office in Latvia from 2016 to 2017.
Prior to his work in the Nordic Council, he served as the CEO for the Finnish Fair Corporation (2011-2015) and as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and a member of the management team at Finnair (2000-2011).
Mr. Haglund's earlier roles within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland included Information Secretary (1986-1989) and Press Secretary in New York (1989-1993) and Stockholm (1993-1996). He also acted as Press Counsellor and Head of the Media Unit in Helsinki (1996-2000) and Head of Press in the Secretariat for Finland’s EU-Chairmanship (1999-2000).
He held significant responsibilities in managing media relations during high-level meetings in Finland throughout the 1990s and was responsible for media arrangements during incoming and outgoing state visits.
In July 2023, Christer Haglund assumed the role of Chairman of the Board for Miltton Ukraine, a newly established representative office of the international consulting company Miltton. Miltton is a leading Nordic consultancy with a team of over 400 experts representing various sectors, including business, media, politics, research, defense, geopolitics, data, digital, brand, advertising, and capital markets.
