Taras Kytsmey is an entrepreneur, scientist, economist, co-founder and member of the Board of Directors of SoftServe, honored Economist of Ukraine, UCU Senator, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ivan Franko Lviv National University and member of the Board of Directors of the European Business Association. In 2018 he was awarded the Order of the Lion for the development of IT industry of Ukraine and Lviv.

Taras Kytsmey is a notable public figure and philanthropist. He focuses his efforts on the comprehensive development of the IT community in Ukraine, by presenting the industry on international platforms and working with state and local authorities, professional and business communities. He was elected President of the IT Association of Ukraine in 2011 and 2016 and in 2020 headed it again. Additionally, Taras advocates the development of IT education in Ukraine and provides support to talented young people, participates in the development of educational programs by working directly with schoolchildren and students as well as helping to reconstruct or equip computer classrooms for educational institutions.

Taras has been engaged in support of important cultural, sports and other important social initiatives.
