Vitaliy Sych has been in journalism for 18 years. He started his career in 1997 in the Kyiv Post, Ukraine’s English-language newspaper, where he worked as journalist and editor. During 6 years in the newspaper, he wrote hundreds of stories on business and political issues.

At a time, he was also a Ukraine correspondent for the Economist group publication, Business Central Europe, where he also covered topics ranging from politics to economy.

As of summer 2003 he became chief editor of Ukraine’s largest weekly magazine Korrespondent that he headed for 10 years. The magazine then became Ukraine’s most authoritative voice on a wide array of issues.

Vitaliy Sych left Korrespondent in fall 2013 and launched a new weekly magazine and a news site Novoye Vremya (New Times) that quickly gained weight just over a year. The magazine is the most respected among weeklies with a circulation of 20 thousand and the site averages about 200 thousand unique hosts a day.

He has also published opinion pieces in Bloomberg, Businessweek, Moscow Times, Radio Liberty/Free Europe, Russia’s most respected daily Vedomosti and many others.
