Ruslan Magomedov started his career in 2005 as the Chief Specialist of the Department of Preparation and Holding of Competitions of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. Since 2007 he held the position of the Head of Securities and Stock Trading Division of Midland Group FIG for two years. From 2010 to 2016 Ruslan Magomedov was the CEO of Astrum Investment Management. Also from 2012 to 2016, he was a Member of the Supervisory Board of Ukrainian Exchange PJSC. Then Mr. Magomedov worked as an Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of State-owned Bank PJSC Settlement Center for a year (2016 – 2017). From 2017 to 2019 Ruslan Magomedov worked as a Senior Project Manager of the EBRD Reform Office at the NSSMC. From 2019, before appointment to the position of the Chairman of the NSSMC, he held the position of the External Consultant of the project of “Mobile Application for Access to the Securities and Banking Products Market” in the Banking Group. Mr. Magomedov was graduated from the Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU); he has a master's degree in financial management specialty (2002 – 2005). From 2007 to 2012 he continued his study at KNEU in postgraduate study of the enterprise finance department.
